Fran Postenjak studied Urban Forestry, Ecology and Environmental Protection on University of Zagreb (CRO), Horticulture on University of Sarajevo (BIH) and Arboriculture and Urban Forestry on Myerscough University Centre (UK). During his studies, he completed numerous professional certifications for urban greenery assessment and management with the latest being Ancient and Veteran trees evaluation and management course trainer with Ancient Tree Forum (UK). During the last seven years, he was a coauthor of expert and scientific research on Urban Green Infrastructure (UGI) management that were presented on various international scientific and expert conferences.
While studying he started his professional career with working part-time in professional certification course preparation and drafting various tree management plans. He served as secretary assistant for Croatian Arboriculture Society and while studying in Sarajevo he co-founded a volunteering student section for Horticulture.
He started his professional career by fulltime employment in one of the biggest German Arboricultural company and then decided to return to his home country and founded Arboring- Croatian first Urban Forestry and Arboriculture private consultancy. Arboring’s main goal is to stop degrading UGI management practice and infrastructure and to provide high-quality UGI management advice to fellow professionals in public places and on commercial sites.
He co-founded ArboSMART cloud in order to make a larger impact on the improvement of global UGI management processes by developing one of the world first global SMART UGI management system.
