Matija Renić is an engineer, entrepreneur, and co-founder of Merlin Hat, where he works with deep-tech companies and startups on turning complex technologies into real products and businesses. Before moving into entrepreneurship, he spent much of his career in the automotive industry, leading engineering and vehicle development programmes across more than seven electric vehicle projects. Most recently, he served as Chief Program Engineer at Bugatti Rimac, with responsibility for the development and homologation of the Rimac Nevera. Today, through Merlin Hat, Matija works with founders and engineering teams on product development, technical strategy, organisational growth, and scaling complex hardware businesses. His work sits at the intersection of engineering, product development, manufacturing, and business, with a strong focus on what it actually takes to bring hardware from an idea to a scalable product.
