Jaime Ruiz Huescar

Co-founder of CITIES FORUM and smart city international expert

Jaime is an international expert on smart cities and Co-Founder of CITIES FORUM, a global organization that drives urban sustainable development worldwide providing strategic advice to government and cities and accompanying them in meeting their sustainability goals. He is leading the involvement of CITIES FORUM in important international projects in the field of e-mobility like the EU funded project “USER CHI”, a 4 year and 16M€ project focused on unlocking e-mobility in Europe or the “E-mobility strategy development for the city of Cuenca in Ecuador” a 18 month pilot project funded by GIZ in the region. 

He is an Industrial Engineer and has completed executive education programs in reputed universities such us Oxford and business schools like IESE. 

Jaime is an expert evaluator of the European Commission on electric and smart mobility and has been member of the jury in different relevant awards like the CIVITAS AWARDS 2020 and 2021, the Europe’s highest awards for clean urban transport. He is well known for being a frequent speaker in international events and he has given +50 speeches since 2018 to date, and for being strategic advisor of Latam Mobility, an international organisation devoted to disseminating best practises in Latin America about sustainable urban mobility. 

Jaime is the founder and director of MOVIELÉCTRICA, a platform designed to foster synergies among the public sector, the industry, and the electric vehicle users in Europe, and was the e-mobility manager of the city of Murcia in Spain and became group coordinator of RECI, the Spanish network of smart cities.
